DPS invites parents to attend a K-5 Math Parent Workshop on Wednesday, September 28, 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Tokeneke Elementary School in the Common Room. Nanci Smith, a member of ASCD’s Differentiated Instruction Cadre, will present on what it means to and the importance of differentiated instruction in mathematics. www.darienps.org
Don’t forget our annual Walk-a-Thon is this Friday! Students, faculty and parents are invited to walk during their grade’s scheduled time as noted below. Please remember to turn in pledge forms on or before Friday. Scheduled Times: Grade 5 – 10:00-10:30am. Grade 4 – 10:30-11am. Grade 3 – 12:25-12:55pm. Grade 1 – 1:15-1:45pm. Grade 2 – 2:00-2:30pm. Kindergarten – 2:30-3:00pm.
Thanks to all the parent volunteers, including our Family Activity Chairs Ellyn Coyne and Sally Betz, for organizing such a fun Back-to-School Picnic! Families enjoyed a beautiful evening socializing, eating pizza, dancing and doing the conga line (see picture)!
