We thank Stephanie Furman, Mathematics Program Coordinator of the Darien Public Schools for her presentation on “Pi Day” (3.14). Among other topics, we learned about the important balance between conceptual understanding and procedural skill in solving mathematical problems, as accuracy extends beyond simply getting the correct answer!
