Upcoming Events and Professional Development for Teachers – and Parents!
The World Language Program will be in place at Holmes by the end of October for 5th graders, and by the end of December for all other grades!
Columbus Day will be a Professional Development day for teachers to focus on math instruction and the best approach to the current curriculum.
Oct. 16 – Conference for Parents: Parents as Literacy Partners
The Teachers College is making a workshop available to parents of students involved in the Reading and Writing Project (including Holmes and other Darien schools). The conference is free (with reserved tickets) and will take place at Columbia University from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Following a keynote speaker, a variety of workshops for expert and inquisitive parents to understand what their children’s teachers have been teaching and how they can help will be led by senior faculty and staff at the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project.
